Dimensional weight, also called volumetric weight, converts the space a parcel takes up into a weight. For centimetres and kilograms, the formula is length × width × height ÷ divisor. This tool compares that answer with actual weight and shows the higher value before any service-specific rounding.
For the example parcel, 40 × 30 × 20 cm ÷ 5,000 = 4.8 kg. Its actual weight is 2 kg, so 4.8 kg is the higher value. The divisor of 5,000 is used in DHL’s published example method; that does not establish which rule applies to your AURA shipment.
Check the parcel, not only the product
Measure after packing, including the box and protective materials. A smaller box may reduce dimensional weight, but the contents still need enough protection. Calculate separate parcels individually; do not combine their dimensions into one imaginary box. Confirm how the chosen service rounds each piece.
